These were designed first and foremost as meditation eyeshades — a meditation eye mask / blindfold built for complete blackout and deep inner work.

You can absolutely sleep in them if you love how they feel, but our focus is being the best tool for practice, not competing with every sleep mask on the market.

Most sleep masks are designed for travel, naps, or bedtime comfort. INEMERGENCE Meditation Eyeshades were designed for something more specific: meditation, breathwork, healing, and other inward practices where the quality of the blackout, the materials, and the fit really matter.

These are meditation-specific eyeshades, not a generic sleep mask.

Memory foam is common, but common isn’t always ideal.

We didn’t want a bulky polyurethane foam block sitting over the eyes and near the breath during meditation or deep inner work. Instead, we chose a softer, lighter structure with gentle inner cushioning and a more thoughtful relationship to our health.

If your main priority is lash space or makeup protection, contour masks may be great for that. Our priority was different: meditation, material thoughtfulness, and true blackout for real practice.

Because what touches the delicate skin around the eyes matters.

The skin there is thin, warm, and sensitive, so we wanted a natural, breathable, luxurious fabric on the side that touches your face. We chose 100% organic Pima cotton for its softness, breathability, and durability.

Wearing eyeshades with stretchy fabric on the face side means exposing our eyes and skin to microplastics.

That happens. These were designed with real practice in mind.

The organic cotton on the skin side gently absorbs tears or sweat, and the strap and shape were designed to stay put through the kinds of sessions where things are actually moving.

They’re specifically designed not to.

We added soft side pillows at the nose to close the gap where many masks leak light. Just adjust these pillows as needed when you put on your eyeshades.

If a mask leaks light at the nose, it’s not really blackout.

We designed them to be as hair-friendly as possible.

The adjustable fabric strap is meant to stay secure via Velcro without yanking, tangling, or leaving the kind of aftermath many masks do. In other words: your hair didn’t do anything wrong.

These were designed not only for sitting meditation, but also for lying-down practice, yoga nidra, standing meditation, dancing, breathwork, and any session where you want to reduce visual stimulation. The low-profile strap and shape were chosen with that in mind.

Because the details matter.

The artwork on the front is stitched in, not glued or printed on as decoration. Embroidery gives the piece more texture, more permanence, and a more integrated feel over time.

Unlike printed or glued artwork, it will remain intact when washed periodically.

The side touching your skin is 100% organic Pima cotton. Inside is a light cushioning layer to give softness and shape, and the outer layer and strap use a small amount of stretch fabric where it’s needed for fit and function.

There is no memory foam block over or around the eyes.
